RG Asset Management Launches Senior Hotel Loan Fund and Mezzanine Investment Fund
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] RG Asset Management announced on the 18th that it has launched a senior loan fund and a mezzanine investment fund for a luxury hotel in Bali, Indonesia.
RG Asset Management has completed investments in loan funds totaling $125 million (mezzanine $35 million / senior loan $90 million) for the Sofitel Hotel on Bali Island, Indonesia. This amounts to approximately 140 billion KRW. Domestic companies interested in acquiring the Bali Sofitel Hotel participated as investors in this investment. The mezzanine investment amount includes an option to convert into equity.
The hotel is a top-tier facility on Bali Island, famous as the venue for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, it is the only luxury hotel in Bali that has continued operations, significantly reducing operating expenses and maintaining profitability by serving only Indonesian nationals.
