Pohang City Announces Media Art Artist Kim Eun-sol for the 16th Jang Du-geon Art Award

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Pohang City announced that Mayor Lee Kang-deok held the '16th Jang Du-geon Art Award' ceremony on the 17th at the city hall's medium conference room, presenting artist Kim Eun-sol with a plaque and a creative support fund of 700 won.
The Jang Du-geon Art Award was established by the renowned Korean senior artist Choheon Jang Du-geon, a native of Pohang, to encourage the artistic activities of local junior artists with a heart that cherishes and loves his hometown. Over the past 15 years, it has produced outstanding local artists and contributed to the revitalization of regional culture and arts.
The 16th awardee, Kim Eun-sol, was born in 1989 in Heunghae, Pohang. She majored in Photography and Video Media at Sangmyung University and graduated with a master's degree in New Media from Seoul Media Graduate School. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and screenings such as the Seoul Photo Festival (2011), Juan Media Festival (2013), and Geumcheon Art Factory (2015), continuing her work visualizing the relationship between human life and technology through video and interactive art.
The Pohang City Museum of Art grants the awarded artist the opportunity to hold a
Kim Eun-sol said in her acceptance speech, "I will repay with good works at next year's exhibition, inheriting the love for the region and the experimental spirit toward art shown by Choheon Jang Du-geon."
