[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] KCC has won the highest grade, the Platinum Award, in the Sustainability Report category of the 2020 Spotlight Awards, a U.S. competition that evaluates the competitiveness of corporate promotional and communication materials worldwide.
The Spotlight Awards is organized by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP), a global public relations and marketing research organization. It selects the best works in 11 categories from various corporate publications such as annual reports, brochures, videos, and newsletters. This year, over 500 companies from 12 countries competed, and outstanding works were awarded Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes.
KCC's "2019/20 KCC Sustainability Report" received a score of 99 out of 100 points in this competition, earning the top Platinum Award. Notably, it received perfect scores in five out of six evaluation criteria, including creativity, message delivery, and design. The report was ranked 14th in the 'TOP 100' outstanding works selected by LACP in this competition.
Since 2015, KCC has published its sustainability report annually based on the international standards ISO 26000 and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting guidelines. From its initial publication, it has consistently achieved excellent results in prestigious domestic and international competitions, recognized as a high-level report compared to those of other companies and organizations.
On the 16th of last month, KCC was simultaneously awarded first place in the building materials sector of the Korean Sustainability Index (KSI) and the Korean Readers' Choice Awards (KRCA) at the 2020 Korea Sustainability Conference hosted by the Korean Standards Association.
The sustainability report summarizes key matters to share the company's vision and strategy regarding social responsibility, as well as its economic, social, and environmental value creation goals and achievements with stakeholders. The report is available for anyone to view on the KCC website.
