6 New Cases at Jeonnam National University Hospital and 3 at Room Soju Bar... 18 New Cases in a Day
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that overnight, 6 additional COVID-19 cases related to Jeonnam National University Hospital and 3 related to Sangmu Room Sojubang were confirmed, increasing the cumulative total to 578.
The confirmed cases related to Jeonnam National University Hospital were classified as numbers 570, 573 to 577. Those related to Sangmu Room Sojubang were numbers 571, 572, and 578.
Among them, a police officer also tested positive. The confirmed case number 570 was found to have had contact on the 14th with case number 561, an employee of a tenant company within Jeonnam National University Hospital.
The quarantine authorities have restricted access to part of the Gwangsan Police Station where case number 570 works and are conducting tests on about 100 police officers.
Earlier, a full investigation at Habaek Elementary School, where confirmed cases had appeared, resulted in all negative tests.
