[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is holding the ‘2020 Small Heroes in Daily Life UCC Contest’ until December 4 to boost the morale of residents who have worked hard to overcome COVID-19.
The contest aims to discover sincere stories of people doing their best in their fields with strong will despite the COVID-19 situation, as well as volunteer work and heartwarming cases for neighbors, contributing to the spread of community culture.
The contest themes include ▲ sincere stories of medical and various fields striving to overcome COVID-19 ▲ messages of hope for small business owners and neighbors affected by economic downturn ▲ volunteer work or heartwarming cases related to COVID-19 ▲ personal stories of overcoming COVID-19, all content that gives hope to residents.
The UCC (video) can be in various formats such as advertisements, animations, documentaries, video letters, etc., with a length between 30 seconds and 90 seconds.
Eligibility is open to anyone who is a resident of Gwanak-gu or a student or worker living in Gwanak-gu. Participants must upload their video on their own YouTube channel with the hashtag (#GwanakGuHero) and then fill out the application form via Google Forms on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Gwanak News).
If participants do not use YouTube, they can submit their work by email to the person in charge (jwbyun@ga.go.kr) when submitting the application.
The evaluation will focus more on the content rather than technical aspects, aiming to share hope with as many people as possible.
A total of 13 winners will be selected: 1 Grand Prize, 1 Excellence Award, 3 Encouragement Awards, and 8 Honorable Mentions. Winners will receive a total prize money of 3 million KRW and certificates.
Selected works will also be used as promotional materials through the district office website and official SNS channels.
