Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Selected as an Excellent Local Government for Regional Innovation Growth by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 16th that it was selected as an excellent local government in the regional innovation growth category of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s ‘2020 Regional Industry Promotion Meritorious Award’ and received the Minister’s Award.
This evaluation selects meritorious individuals and organizations that contributed to regional growth and national balanced development by innovating regional industries and enhancing competitiveness. Among the autonomous districts in Gwangju, Gwangsan-gu was the only one selected as an excellent local government.
Since last year and continuing until next year, Gwangsan-gu is focusing on fostering public projects and securing regional industrial technology competitiveness by attracting the 18 billion KRW scale ‘Regional Development Investment Agreement Pilot Project.’
Along with this, it established the ‘Corporate Doctor Center,’ the first among basic local governments, to systematically and professionally support small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.
