HiteJinro 'Kimjang Kimchi Sharing'... 8,500kg Delivered to 54 Organizations and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] HiteJinro announced on the 16th that it will hold the ‘2020 Warm Winter Kimchi Sharing’ event to help neighbors in need in local communities prepare for the winter season.
They plan to deliver a total of 2,000 households’ worth (8,530 kg) of kimchi to 54 social welfare institutions located in Seoul, Busan, Changwon, and Gwangju, as well as to fifteen families of fire victims. The deliveries will be made over two days, on the 16th and 17th, in Seoul, Changwon, and Gwangju, and all at once on the 26th in Busan.
HiteJinro organized this sharing event with the hope that neighbors in need in local communities can spend a healthy and warm winter, and has been conducting sharing activities ahead of the winter season. Since 2016, employees have directly made kimchi and delivered it to each household, but this year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, they decided to purchase and support ‘ready-made kimchi.’
The ready-made kimchi was purchased from a small-scale kimchi factory located in Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, adding more meaning to the sharing. This factory employs local seniors, single-parent families, and multicultural families. The kimchi ingredients are also domestically sourced agricultural products directly procured from Gangwon-do, Chungcheong-do, and Jeolla-do.
CEO Kim In-gyu said, “I hope many people can spend this winter warmly,” and added, “HiteJinro will continue to strive to be a company that fulfills its social responsibility by practicing sharing starting from small acts.”

Meanwhile, HiteJinro continues its community-based sharing activities for neighbors in need.
