[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will distribute 620,000 KF94 masks to vulnerable groups in the area to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19 this coming winter.
The distribution targets include ▲National Basic Livelihood Security recipients ▲Lower-income groups ▲Severely disabled persons (grades 1 to 3) ▲Seniors aged 65 and older, totaling 480,000 masks at 5 masks per person.
To protect children who are relatively vulnerable to infection, a total of 41,000 small-sized masks will be delivered to 225 daycare centers in the area.
In addition, 100,000 masks will be distributed to places with high contact density among residents, such as local welfare facilities, food service establishments, cultural distribution facilities, private sports facilities, and village bus workers.
When distributing masks, the district will include notices about the mask-wearing enforcement starting November 13 under the Seoul City mask mandate administrative order, along with guidelines on quarantine rules, to strengthen public awareness for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, regarding the mask-wearing mandate administrative order, the district is making every effort to break the prolonged chain of COVID-19 by conducting joint inspections of over 5,460 locations including indoor sports facilities, karaoke rooms, PC rooms, and academies, with all staff checking for mask non-compliance.
