[Golf Topic] Jutanugarn Sisters Test Positive for COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…Eriya-Moriya Jutanugarn (Thailand) sisters have contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On the 14th (Korean time), Eriya posted on her social media, "We have been very careful, but both Moriya and I tested positive for COVID-19." She added, "We are currently self-isolating and tracing the infection route," explaining, "The symptoms are not severe." They withdrew from the LPGA Tour Pelican Women's Championship (total prize money $1.5 million), which opens on the night of the 19th at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, USA.

The Jutanugarn sisters are representatives of Thai women's golf. Older sister Moriya was the 2013 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year and won the 2018 LA Open. Younger sister Eriya, known for her powerful long drives, has won 10 tournaments in total, including two majors: the 2016 Women's British Open and the 2018 US Open. She has also been ranked world No. 1 at one point. This year, Moriya ranks 21st in prize money ($340,183), and Eriya ranks 45th ($183,201).
