Late Autumn Historical Walk with Stories of Women's History
Seodaemun-gu Operates Online Stamp Tour on Women-Friendly Theme Streets
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will conduct an online stamp tour on the Ansan (鞍山) Women-Friendly Theme Road in the district for two weeks from the 16th to the 30th.
This road was created in 2017 through public-private cooperation by the Seodaemun-gu Women-Friendly City Creation Council to promote women in history and women related to the region. It stretches about 2 km from the ‘Meeting Place’ to the ‘Book Cafe Shelter’ along the Ansan Jarak-gil.
The district installed eight storyboards here: ▲Seodaemun ‘Yeogiro (女記路)’ ▲Which female historical figures? ▲Attention! Women independence activists ▲The first female pilot ‘Kwon Gi-ok’ ▲Our sad history ‘Comfort Women’ ▲‘Lee Tae-young’ who opened the path to gender equality ▲Representative modern literature writer ‘Park Wan-seo’ ▲Women’s history solved through quizzes.
By installing and running the ‘WalkOn’ app on a smartphone (Challenge → Participate in Women-Friendly Theme Road Stamp Tour), activating ‘Location,’ and walking this theme road, a stamp is automatically marked on the app each time you pass one of the eight points.
The district will draw 200 participants who collect all eight stamps after December 2 and award them a mobile Seoul Love Gift Certificate worth 5,000 won.
