On the 12th, MBC Newsdesk reported, "A three-year-old child of Vietnamese nationality living in Korea was transferred to a hospital with ruptured organs and bruises on the body."
According to MBC, the child is receiving treatment after emergency surgery, and the police have booked the child's mother and are also tracking the mother's cohabitant.
The previous day, the Vietnamese mother brought the 3-year-old boy to a pediatric clinic in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province.
The clinic discovered bruises around the child's eyes and reported it to the police.
The child, who was transferred from the local pediatric clinic to a large hospital, had a high fever of 39 degrees Celsius, a ruptured liver with blood accumulated in the abdomen, and bleeding from the lungs.
The bruises around the eyes, legs, and other parts of the body are estimated to have occurred within the last two weeks.
The child was moved to a regional trauma center, underwent emergency surgery, and is currently hospitalized.
During the police investigation, the child's mother partially admitted to the charges, stating, "I hit him lightly, but I didn't know he would get hurt this badly."
She also stated that "the foreign national cohabitant living with me also hit the child," and the police are pursuing this man's whereabouts.
