Recruitment of Talent Scholarship Students by Gangbuk-gu Kkum Namu Kiwoom Scholarship Foundation
Application Documents Accepted Until the 18th... Selection of About 6 Students for the 9th Scholarship Program... Annual Payment Around 3 Million KRW 'Until Talent Blossoms' Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Park Kyumsu) is recruiting the 9th Talent Scholarship Students for the ‘Gangbuk-gu Kkum Namu Kiwoom Scholarship Foundation’ until the 18th.
The Kkum Namu Kiwoom Scholarship Foundation’s scholarship program targets students who face difficulties in developing their talents for various reasons. Unlike other scholarship systems, it supports students as long as they have talent until they achieve certain results.
This 9th batch of scholarship students will select about six students in the fields of music, art, dance, sports, theater, and academics, each receiving a scholarship of up to 3 million KRW annually. If they show growth potential or certain achievements, continuous support through annual evaluations is also possible. The final successful candidates will be selected on January 15 of next year after the first document screening and the second on-site evaluation.
Applicants must reside in the district or be enrolled in local daycare centers, kindergartens, or elementary to high schools, and be children from families whose health insurance premium payments are below 70% of the national average monthly household income.
Applicants should submit the required documents via email or visit the District Office’s Education Support Division for application. Detailed information and application forms can be found by searching for the Talent Scholarship Student Selection Guide in the news section on the district office website.
The Gangbuk-gu Kkum Namu Kiwoom Scholarship Foundation operates using private donations voluntarily collected from residents. Since its establishment in 2012, starting with 4 students in 2013, a total of 41 students have received scholarships amounting to 300 million KRW.
Park Kyumsu, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “If promising students find it difficult to even sprout their talents due to various environmental reasons, it is a national loss. We will do our best to help children freely pursue their dreams and grow into future talents.”
