Black Swan Hyemi Sued for 50 Million Won Fraud "Met on SNS... Borrowed Money Then Disappeared"
Complainant "Financial support including accommodation deposit, rent, credit card"
Complainant "Vacate the room immediately and repay the money"… Hyemi "I have no money right now"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Group Blackswan (formerly Rania) member Hyemi (24) has been reported to be sued on charges of fraud.
On the 9th, Dispatch reported that Blackswan's Hyemi was sued on charges of fraud involving 50 million won.
According to Dispatch, office worker A filed a complaint against Hyemi on the 26th of last month, stating that "about 50 million won was embezzled." A submitted evidence such as remittance (Toss), transfers, card transactions, and rent payment records.
A revealed that they got to know Hyemi through Instagram in December 2018. The two became close by exchanging DMs (direct messages) and eventually met offline. They ate meals and drank together, becoming quite close.
According to A, later in April 2019, Hyemi asked, "I urgently need money. Please lend me 5 million won." Due to Hyemi's continuous requests, A transferred 5 million won to Hyemi's mother's account.
Then, in June 2019, A spent 20 million won as a deposit to prepare accommodation for Hyemi. Over the past year, A also paid about 900,000 won monthly rent (totaling 11.35 million won) on her behalf.
Additionally, A created a credit card for Hyemi. The card expenses Hyemi used over the past five months amounted to about 12.8 million won.
Regarding this financial support, A reportedly said, "I set the condition that she would succeed as an idol. There was also a romantic interest. But first and foremost, it was about her success."
A stated that they were not in a romantic relationship with Hyemi and that there was no physical relationship.
Later, A found out that the officetel he had prepared became a secret dating spot for Hyemi and another man.
Eventually, in March, A notified Hyemi to "repay the 5 million won," and Hyemi said, "I will return the money."
However, the money was not returned, and in May, A went to Hyemi's house and urged her to "vacate the room immediately and pay the rent." Hyemi responded, "I don't have money right now."
Afterwards, Hyemi changed her contact information and moved out, making it impossible to reach A.
Regarding this, Blackswan's agency told Dispatch, "She did borrow the 5 million won. We will look into it further."
After Dispatch's report on the day, a representative of Blackswan's agency said, "Upon receiving the report about the fraud lawsuit, we are currently verifying the exact facts with Hyemi herself."
