The city explained that the event, which was previously held offline at famous Daegu locations, has been changed to a non-face-to-face online format to avoid COVID-19 risks and allow anyone to participate freely by utilizing various online channels such as the event homepage, YouTube, and Instagram.
The highlight of the festival, the local designer fashion show, can be viewed through online channels with videos filmed at Daegu tourist attractions and cultural spaces. Each day, 10 participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis to provide a VR fashion show room experience that allows them to feel the vivid presence as if they were actually in the space.
The participating designers are seven in total: Cahiers (CAHIERS), Gargan (GARGAN), Gaze de Lin (GAZE DE LIN), Dumat?n (DUMATIN), Maison de Ines (MAISON DE INES), Semicode (SEMICODE), and Choiboko (CHOIBOKO).
Additionally, related companies in fashion apparel, bedding, eyewear, and jewelry will hold real-time sales events through the Naver TV channel, while local artists will prepare various experiential corners such as fashion collaboration performances, the 'Stay-at-Home! Pajama Fashion King Challenge,' and 'Puzzle Game.'
Hong Eui-rak, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, stated, "In preparation for the With-Corona era, we hope this festival based on fashion and cultural content that many citizens can share and enjoy will serve as an opportunity for the local fashion industry to make a fresh leap forward and regain vitality."
