Japan Reports Over 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases for Three Consecutive Days

According to the local public broadcaster NHK's tally, as of 7 PM on the 7th, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Japan was 1,323. The cumulative number of confirmed cases rose to 108,261. The death toll increased by 5 to reach 1,830.
It has been three consecutive days since Japan recorded daily new COVID-19 infections in the 1,000s, starting from the 5th.

Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide said in a lecture at the International Youth Chamber World Conference held in Yokohama City on the same day, "The number of domestic COVID-19 infections is showing an increasing trend," and added, "The government will deploy all its capabilities to somehow prevent the spread of the infection."
