Prosecutors Conclude 'No Charges' for Yoo Si-min, Accused of Defamation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] It has been reported that the prosecution has concluded with no charges in the case where a civic group filed a complaint against Yoo Si-min (61), chairman of the People’s Livelihood Foundation and the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
According to civic groups on the 7th, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office, which handled the case, recently dismissed the defamation charges against Chairman Yoo due to insufficient evidence.
One group filed a complaint last October under the Information and Communications Network Act, claiming that during the YouTube broadcast 'Alileo' hosted by Chairman Yoo, a panelist made sexually harassing remarks such as "prosecutors liked a certain KBS reporter and leaked (investigation details on Cho Kuk)," and that Chairman Yoo did not stop or intervene in these remarks but remained passive.
