Banks Donate 620 Million Won Including Love Sharing Fund to Korean Red Cross
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Korea Federation of Banks, representing 22 member institutions, donated a total of 620 million KRW to the Korean Red Cross on the 6th, including 350 million KRW in cash from the 'Bank Love Sharing Network' and donation goods worth 270 million KRW.
The 'Bank Love Sharing Network' is a volunteer network that connects bank headquarters and branches with the Korean Red Cross volunteer groups to practice sharing for vulnerable groups nationwide. Since 2006, it has supported a total of 11.72 billion KRW up to this year.
Over the past 15 years, bank employees and the Korean Red Cross volunteer groups have continuously carried out warm care volunteer activities by delivering basic living supplies to about 300,000 households affiliated with the Korean Red Cross, including low-income children, adolescents, the elderly, multicultural families, and North Korean defectors. In August, they also donated 100 million KRW to the Korean Red Cross to support emergency recovery and stabilize the lives of residents affected by the heavy rains.
