L&K Biomed Registered as the Largest Hospital Chain Group in Michigan
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] L&K Biomed announced on the 5th that it has registered its newly launched Expandable Cage with Beaumont Healthcare, the largest hospital group in Michigan, USA.
A company official explained, "Even products approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can be pushed out of the U.S. market or barely survive without technological superiority and meticulous marketing strategies."
He continued, "To supply medical devices to general hospitals in the U.S., a stringent internal approval process must be passed. It is characteristic that a specific medical device company, recognized for product capability, possessing all related product lines, and capable of stable supply, is registered, and supplies are received only through that supplier."
Doctors within hospitals are familiar with medical devices they repeatedly use. As experience accumulates, trust in product safety grows. Without special reasons, they tend to be conservative when changing existing products. To register a new product for special reasons, it must be recognized as a new technology product following new trends or as having innovatively improved quality.
L&K Biomed overcame difficulties and registered its product with Beaumont Healthcare, the largest hospital group in Michigan. Beaumont Healthcare is a hospital chain with eight hospitals in Michigan and employs more than 20 spine specialists.
A company official said, "At the event introducing L&K Biomed’s Expandable Cage to Beaumont Healthcare, doctors showed particular interest in the ‘AccelFix-XL,’ used in Lateral Fusion Surgery."
He added, "We received evaluations from Beaumont Healthcare doctors who experienced the actual product that it is superior in quality and easier to use than existing height-fixed cages. Through reports of good patient prognosis, the product registration was approved after hospital review."
