[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Jin Ok-dong, CEO of Shinhan Bank, received the Industrial Medal, the highest national award, for his contribution to win-win growth.
Shinhan Bank announced on the 4th that CEO Jin was awarded the Silver Tower Industrial Medal at the 2020 Win-Win Growth Week ceremony hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The Win-Win Growth Merit Award was established to encourage organizations and individuals who contributed to enhancing corporate competitiveness and national economic development through promoting win-win growth between large corporations and SMEs. In particular, the Industrial Medal is the highest national award given to executives and employees who have made significant achievements in win-win growth activities between large corporations and SMEs.
CEO Jin received the Silver Tower Industrial Medal in recognition of his voluntary win-win cooperation and warm financial practices aimed at growing together with SMEs and small business owners, placing 'Customer First' as the top priority value.
He especially emphasized to employees the belief that "even if one shoulder gets wet, we must be able to share an umbrella with our customers," and carried out various financial support policies such as new funding, installment repayment and interest deferral, and preferential interest rates to help SMEs and small business owners overcome the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). He also launched various campaigns such as the 'Our Neighborhood Support Program,' 'Good Prepayment,' and 'Hope Lunchbox' to help expand sales channels for self-employed business owners.
Additionally, Shinhan Bank is striving to build a virtuous cycle ecosystem of voluntary win-win cooperation by ▲ investing a total of 1 trillion KRW in venture funds through the 'Caring Company' agreement with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Venture Business Association, the first in the financial sector ▲ launching new smart factory-specialized products supporting the innovative growth of SMEs and startups ▲ operating the Success Do-Dream program to support youth employment and entrepreneurship and strengthen the self-reliance of self-employed business owners.
