Kim Jong-in: "Until Victory in Seoul and Busan Mayoral Elections... The Party Must Be United as One"
"The By-election Is Important for Us to Regain Power"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 4th, “Some party officials and members may feel somewhat uncomfortable with the various situations the Emergency Committee is currently pushing forward,” and added, “Even if there are some dissatisfactions until we achieve victory in the by-elections next April, I ask that the party unite as one and strive to win the election.”
At the expanded party officials meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kim said, “At the very least, it is important for the party to endure and remain united until the by-elections for the Seoul and Busan mayoral offices next year, for the sake of the party,” and added, “Only by doing so can we be reborn as a ruling party and a party for the people in the next presidential election.”
Chairman Kim emphasized, “The most important thing for us to regain power in 2022 is the by-elections for the Seoul and Busan mayoral offices to be held next year,” and stressed, “Only by winning these two elections can we open a new hope.”
