Gwangju City Recruiting Companies for the '2021 Village Enterprise Contest Project' Participation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 3rd that it will recruit participating companies for the '2021 Village Enterprise Contest Project' from the 3rd to the 24th for corporations wishing to be designated as village enterprises.
Village enterprises are village-level companies that solve local problems and create income and jobs through profit-making businesses utilizing various local resources.
The selection scale this time is a total of 12 places, divided into three types: 4 new (1st year) village enterprises, 4 re-designated (2nd year) village enterprises, and 4 advanced (3rd year) village enterprises.
Last year, recruitment was conducted separately by type, but this year, integrated recruitment, screening, and selection from new to advanced will be carried out to improve the efficiency of project promotion.
Eligibility for application is corporations that meet the requirements for establishing a village enterprise, with at least 5 members investing, and more than 70% of investors and employees must be local residents. However, for village enterprises led by youth, more than 50% of investors must be youth, and the rest must be local residents.
Companies wishing to participate in the project must complete introductory and specialized training hosted by the village enterprise support organization (Social Cooperative Sallim) before applying, download the application form and required documents from the city hall website's public notice, fill them out, and submit them in person to the relevant district office department where the corporation is located.
After the application deadline, on-site investigations, eligibility reviews, and the first screening by the screening committee will be conducted, followed by recommendation to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the final selection of village enterprises will be made by the Ministry in February next year.
Selected village enterprises will receive project funds of 50 million KRW for new enterprises, 30 million KRW for re-designated (2nd year), and 20 million KRW for advanced (3rd year), and will be able to participate in management consultations and various promotional events hosted by the village enterprise support organization.
Currently, there are 64 designated and operating village enterprises and 12 preliminary village enterprises in Gwangju City, and efforts are actively being made to expand sales channels for village enterprises through the 'Korea's First Village Enterprise Win-Win Shop (#)', a village enterprise product sales center opened last September.
