An Elementary Student Deposited 130 Million Won as Jeonse Deposit to a BJ... Signs of Sexual Exploitation Also Detected
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgi Kim] Regarding the incident in which an elementary school student transferred 130 million KRW to a BJ through the real-time broadcasting application 'Hakuna Live,' the student's father revealed that about 40 million KRW has still not been refunded.
Mr. B, the father of 11-year-old elementary school student A, said in an interview with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 3rd, "The payment was made through KakaoPay linked to the mother's phone. At first, we stopped everything and went to the Cyber Investigation Unit. The initial response from Google and KakaoPay was an absolute 'no refund.'"
Mr. B said, "My daughter initially watched various broadcasts out of curiosity and became close to a BJ. The BJ called the person who donated the most the 'Chairman,' the second the 'Vice Chairman,' and the third the 'President,' giving them special treatment. Also, the faces of donors were displayed on the BJ's profile," adding, "My daughter wanted to become the 'Chairman' of the BJ she liked and respected."
He continued, "There are not only 'Chairman' and 'President' levels but also private rooms. They set passwords and invite only selected people to broadcast," adding, "Sometimes they demanded things like 'I will give you 10 diamonds (donations), so please live as my slave' with certain intentions."
He further explained, "Minors tend to avoid revealing their identities easily, so that is used as a weakness. They told my daughter to 'sit on the floor and show the camera,' possibly to expose private parts, while she was in the bathroom. When she sensed something was wrong and said, 'I don't want to do this,' and 'I don't want to live as a slave anymore, I want to quit,' they threatened her by saying, 'I know who you are and where you are, and I will tell your parents everything.'"
According to the interview, A paid about 130 million KRW, which was the deposit for a rented house, through KakaoPay linked to her mother, who has brain and visual impairments. Most BJs who heard Mr. B's story expressed willingness to refund, but one BJ who received about 40 million KRW in donations refused to refund, claiming the money had already been spent.

Mr. B said, "Hakuna only has email contact, so I explained the situation dozens of times via email. I couldn't have direct consultations with Hakuna. I requested them to arrange a meeting where I could get the phone numbers of the BJs or meet them, and on September 15th, I heard their voices for the first time through a Zoom meeting," adding, "Except for one person, the others understood the situation and said they would refund. But one BJ who received about 40 million KRW said they had already spent the money and could not refund it," he lamented.
