CU Introduces ‘Baekbaero Day’ to Boost Fun 100 Times
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CU will hold an Instagram live broadcast (hereinafter referred to as live) under the theme of ‘Baekbaero Day,’ which brings back fun a hundredfold, targeting the upcoming Pepero Day.
On the 6th at 11 a.m., CU will sell Wemakeprice CU delivery vouchers that can be used to purchase Pepero Day special products at CU stores listed on the Wemakeprice app through CU’s official Instagram account.
The CU delivery vouchers sold through this live broadcast are 6,900 pieces of 10,000 KRW vouchers (first-come, first-served), available at a shocking discount ranging from 11% (8,900 KRW) to up to 100% (0 KRW).
Also, on the day of the live broadcast, a product planner (MD) from BGF Retail will appear in person to unbox the products so that customers can learn about the composition and features of CU’s Pepero Day special products without visiting the stores.
CU has prepared about 20 Pepero Day products in collaboration with various industries such as movies, games, and clothing.
Targeting November, when purchases of thermal underwear increase, CU will exclusively release the ‘BYC Pepero Package’ in collaboration with underwear company BYC. This product features BYC’s representative clothing such as running shirts and red thermal underwear in the package design, and depending on the product, includes an 11% discount coupon usable at the BYC online mall and a hot pack.
The ‘CU Megabox Pepero Shopping Bag,’ in collaboration with multiplex Megabox, contains three flavors of Pepero and a 2,000 KRW discount coupon for Megabox movies, while the ‘CU Megabox Gift Set’ includes popular snacks and a Megabox popcorn (regular size) exchange voucher. The ‘Wemakeprice Pepero,’ in collaboration with the fair delivery app Wemakeprice, includes discount coupons of 3,000 KRW or 5,000 KRW usable for CU delivery orders on Wemakeprice, depending on the product.
Many special products containing official licensed goods available only at CU will also be released.
The ‘KartRider Pepero,’ released in partnership between CU and LINE FRIENDS, contains a mini life-size figure or character magnet of popular characters from KartRider, Nexon’s representative racing game partnered with LINE FRIENDS. The ‘Bardo Pepero Shopping Bag,’ in collaboration with premium ice cream Bardo, includes a postcard designed with Bardo’s signature lip shape.
The ‘Gompyo Pepero Special Set’ includes a postcard, notebook, and coaster each designed with ‘Pyogomi,’ the character of the Gompyo brand, depending on the product. The ‘Stick Snack Gift Set,’ in collaboration with instant photo booth ‘Insaengnecut,’ includes a topper that allows you to take beautiful photos anywhere.
Additionally, a uniform shipping fee event for customers preparing non-face-to-face gifts due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be held until the 11th of this month. If you purchase Pepero Day event products at any CU nationwide and ship them via ‘CU Kkiri Delivery,’ you can use the service at a uniform price of 1,000 KRW regardless of weight or region (excluding Jeju/island areas).
