Daegu City Opens Startup Business Hub 'TechBiz Center' … Construction Cost 31 Billion KRW

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Daegu City announced on the 2nd that it will hold an opening ceremony for the 'Daegu Tech Biz Center,' which will serve as a startup business hub and a core infrastructure for promoting technology commercialization, on the morning of the 3rd at Dalseong-gun Technopolis.
About 50 figures from industry, academia, research, and government, including Jeong Byeong-seon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, Hong Eui-rak, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, Chu Kyung-ho, National Assembly member (Daegu Dalseong-gun), and Yang Seong-gwang, Chairman of the Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation, will attend the opening ceremony.
The Daegu Tech Biz Center was built on a total site area of 6,000㎡ with a total investment of 31 billion KRW (50% national funds, 50% city funds), consisting of one basement floor and six above-ground floors. The first floor, designated as a neighborhood living facility, houses the Tech Nanumter (co-working space) and convenience facilities, while floors two and above are equipped with corporate office spaces and business support facilities such as meeting rooms.
The first-floor Tech Nanumter is a co-working space designed for mutual exchange among research institute companies, startups, and investors, and will be operated in connection with startup support projects such as the Innopolis Campus project. Currently, promising local SMEs leading advanced industries such as drones, platforms, bio, and automotive parts manufacturing are housed in the center.
Hong Eui-rak, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, stated, "The opening of the Tech Biz Center marks a turning point to evaluate the achievements of the Daegu Research and Development Special Zone over the past 10 years and to plan for the next 10 years of the future," adding, "We will do our best to make the Tech Biz Center a more business-friendly governance for innovative growth."
