Seoul Women's University Library Remodeled into a Multifunctional Cultural Space
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul Women’s University announced on the 1st that it held a completion worship service and a donor nameplate unveiling ceremony on the 30th of last month after the completion ceremony of the remodeling of the Central Library.
The Central Library spans a total area of 3,160 pyeong and the remodeling focused mainly on the 1st and 2nd floors. The separated and closed reading room structure was replaced with a space layout organized by subject matter that reflects user demands and patterns.

A user-centered ‘Learning Commons’ was established, including a multimedia lounge, social learning lounge, community lounge, multiplex zone, and book caf?. The 2nd-floor terrace provides visitors to the library with the health and relaxation that nature offers. The heating and cooling systems, restrooms, and powder rooms from the 1st to the 5th floors were newly renovated, and security was enhanced by installing a digital seat allocation system and an electronic access system.
