According to Sina on the 30th, Zhang Jinxuan attended the briefing on the results of the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (5th Plenum) held at the State Council General Office in Beijing as the director, confirming his promotion.
The Central Policy Research Office is a think tank responsible for political theory, policy, and document drafting for the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party.
Zhang Jinxuan, known as a close aide to President Xi Jinping, being promoted to director indicates that he may be appointed as a key member of the leadership in the future.
Until now, the director of the Central Policy Research Office was held by Wang Huning, secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
Director Zhang was one of the main members who drafted President Xi's 3-hour and 24-minute speech at the 19th National Congress of the Party in 2017.
At that time, he was known to have been the head of inspection at the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and was responsible for drafting parts of the speech related to state-owned enterprises and party discipline.
