Decrease in Applicants for Seoul Public Middle School Teacher Recruitment... Competition Rate 8.79 to 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Next year, 6,238 applicants competed for 710 public middle school teacher positions in Seoul, resulting in a competition ratio of 8.79 to 1.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 28th through its website the application results for the selection competition exam for candidates for national, public, and private middle school teachers, as well as health, librarian, nutrition, professional counseling, and special (middle school) teachers.
For public schools, the number of applicants decreased by 2,878 (31.6%) compared to the previous year. This appears to be due to a decrease of 173 in the number of positions compared to the previous year. For national schools, 20 applicants competed for 3 positions, resulting in a competition ratio of 6.67 to 1, while private schools saw 4,219 applicants for 131 positions, showing a competition ratio of 32.31 to 1. The subject with the highest competition ratio was music, with 281 applicants for 12 positions.
