Myeongdong Building Sold to SK D&D for 90.05 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] SK Networks announced on the 26th that it will sell its Myeongdong headquarters building and relocate its office to the Samil Building near Cheonggyecheon.
On the same day, SK Networks held a board meeting and approved the sale of the Myeongdong headquarters building to SK D&D for 90.05 billion KRW. Additionally, it decided to lease about 20 floors of the Samil Building to use as its new office.
Having reviewed solutions to address the aging of the headquarters building and lack of space, SK Networks made the decision to relocate with a focus on creating an environment for the company's new growth and employee happiness. To enhance synergy with investment companies and improve work efficiency, not only SK Networks but also employees of SK Magic and SK Rent-a-Car will move into the Samil Building together. The sales contract for the Myeongdong building is scheduled to be signed in early November, and related procedures will be carried out so that the office relocation will be completed by the second quarter of next year.
SK Networks will create TFT rooms and shared meeting rooms in the Samil Building where various employees can work together. It also plans to provide a library, cafe, fitness center, and daycare center.
