On the morning of the same day, Floor Leader Joo visited the funeral hall at Samsung Seoul Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where Chairman Lee's funeral was held, and offered condolences to the bereaved family, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
Floor Leader Joo said, "Personally, I have no close ties, but I only have the connection that the deceased was born in Daegu and that I visited Samsung Sanghoe a few times," adding, "The deceased, through creative and innovative management, practically re-established the Samsung Group and made us proud to be citizens of the Republic of Korea worldwide, so I came to pay my respects."
When asked by reporters what kind of conversation took place inside, Floor Leader Joo explained, "Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and the bereaved family were calmly receiving mourners."
