[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Shinhan Bank announced on the 26th that it has begun accepting entries for the '27th Shinhan Environmental Photography Contest.'
Hosted by Shinhan Bank and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the 'Shinhan Environmental Photography Contest' is a representative environment-oriented social contribution project aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the environment. It has been held annually since 1994, marking its 27th year this year. As the only environment-related photography contest in the financial sector, the 'Shinhan Environmental Photography Contest' is recognized as the largest in Korea in terms of participants and prize money.
This year's 'Shinhan Environmental Photography Contest' is held under the theme '환.생 環.生 (Environment and Life, Coexistence),' conveying the message of 'Recycle (Circulation)' and the meaning of coexistence with the environment and nature in daily life. Through environmental photos taken in everyday life, the contest aims to raise awareness of environmental pollution and encourage a closer recognition of environmental issues.
In particular, this contest allows submissions not only by uploading photos on the official website of the 'Shinhan Environmental Photography Contest (http://photo.shinhan.com)' but also by simply taking environmental photos with a smartphone and registering the hashtag '#2020ShinhanEnvironmentalPhotographyContest' on personal SNS, increasing participation from both professional photographers and the general public.
The contest will be judged based on the practice of environmental protection and the love for the environment in daily life, with winners to be announced and awarded in December. The total prize money amounts to 17 million KRW, with the Gold Prize winner receiving a certificate from the Minister of Environment and a prize of 3 million KRW.
