According to foreign media on the 24th, on the 23rd (local time), the number of new COVID-19 cases in the United States reached 83,948, marking an all-time high. This surpassed the previous record of 77,299 cases set on July 16.
In France, the number of new cases also reached a record high of 42,032 on the same day. As a result, France's cumulative confirmed cases reached 1,041,075, making it the seventh country worldwide to exceed one million cases. In Italy, the number of new cases on that day was 19,143, the highest since the COVID-19 outbreak began in February.
