KOSPI Recovers to 2360 Level Supported by Net Buying from Foreigners and Institutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] On the 23rd, the KOSPI index recovered to the 2360 level, supported by net buying from foreigners and institutions.
On that day, the KOSPI closed at 2360.81, up 5.76 points (0.24%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 2364.84, up 9.79 points (0.42%) compared to the previous trading day, but after fluctuating, it gained momentum after 11:15 a.m.
In the KOSPI market, foreigners and institutions net bought 37.2 billion KRW and 224.6 billion KRW respectively, while individuals net sold 269.8 billion KRW.
By sector, Paper & Wood (1.36%), Transportation Equipment (1.6%), and Chemicals (0.73%) rose, while Food & Beverages (1.06%) and Non-metallic Minerals (0.63%) declined.
Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (0.17%), SK Hynix (0.72%), LG Chem (1.72%), and Hyundai Motor (2.77%) rose, while NAVER (2.22%), Samsung Biologics (3.34%), and Kakao (2.58%) fell.
The KOSDAQ index closed at 807.89, down 4.72 points (0.58%) from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ opened at 817.70, up 5.00 points (0.62%) from the previous trading day, but after fluctuating, it turned fully downward after 12:50 p.m.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals and foreigners net bought 65.0 billion KRW and 59.1 billion KRW respectively, while institutions net sold 114.9 billion KRW.
By sector, Information Devices (0.93%) and Computer Services (0.63%) rose, while Software (1.12%) and Non-metallic (1.26%) declined.
