Gwangyang City Designates 3 New Preliminary Social Enterprises in Jeonnam for the Second Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 23rd that three companies?Maroclean Cooperative, NS Info Co., Ltd., and Momo Co., Ltd.?were newly designated as preliminary social enterprises in the second half of this year’s 'Jeollanam-do Preliminary Social Enterprise Designation Contest.'
With this new designation, a total of five companies have been designated as preliminary social enterprises this year, including two in the first half, increasing the total number of social enterprises in Gwangyang City to 17.
Maroclean Cooperative is a cleaning and disinfection company selected in the first half for the 'Gwangyang City Youth Social Economy Entrepreneur Development Project.' Having completed basic and advanced training, consulting, and social economy startup academy education, it plans to provide social services to vulnerable groups following its designation as a preliminary social enterprise.
NS Info Co., Ltd. mainly repairs home appliances and recycles discarded electronic parts to provide them to vulnerable groups in digital blind spots, while Momo Co., Ltd., a professional organizing and storage consulting company, will fulfill its role as a preliminary social enterprise creating jobs for women with career interruptions.
Moon Byung-ju, Director of the Investment and Job Creation Division, stated, “We will do our best to provide administrative and financial support so that the newly designated preliminary social enterprises can become self-reliant,” adding, “We will continue to strive to discover and nurture preliminary social enterprises in various fields.”

Meanwhile, Gwangyang City’s social economy enterprises include 17 (preliminary) social enterprises, 15 village enterprises, 5 social cooperatives, 47 cooperatives, and 7 self-support enterprises, totaling 91. It is expected that the goal of nurturing 103 social economy enterprises during the 7th local government term will be achievable.
