Police Forward Former MBC Reporter to Prosecution on Charges of 'Doctor's Room Remittance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] A former MBC journalist suspected of sending money to the Telegram 'Baksa Room' has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 22nd that it had sent former MBC journalist Mr. A to the prosecution last month with a recommendation for indictment on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse.
Based on data obtained from virtual currency exchanges related to the Baksa Room and others, the police identified paid members who sent money to 'Baksa' Jo Joo-bin, and it is reported that they detected circumstances indicating that Mr. A sent money.

Earlier in April, MBC conducted an internal investigation and judged that Mr. A's statement claiming he joined the Baksa Room for reporting purposes was not credible. Subsequently, in June, MBC dismissed Mr. A based on a violation of employment regulations.
