Provincial Assemblyman Song O-seong's Proposed 'Gyeongnam Province Vulnerable Workers Health Promotion Ordinance' Passed in Plenary Session

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] On the 21st, the Gyeongnam Provincial Council announced that the "Gyeongsangnam-do Vulnerable Workers Health Promotion Ordinance," which was proposed by Provincial Assemblyman Song O-seong (The Democratic Party of Korea·Geoje 2), was passed at the 4th plenary session of the 380th extraordinary meeting.
According to the ordinance, a basic plan for health promotion of vulnerable workers is to be established every five years. It includes provisions for the establishment of health promotion centers, the installation of health promotion committees, certification of excellent health promotion workplaces, support for medical interpretation services for migrant workers, administrative support for cities, counties, health and medical-related institutions and organizations, businesses and workplaces, the establishment of cooperative systems with cities, counties, and health and medical-related institutions and organizations, and matters related to publicity for the health promotion of vulnerable workers.

Assemblyman Song O-seong said, "I believe that the ordinance passed this time will serve as a foundation for the health management and support of vulnerable workers working in poor working environments and conditions. I hope that, through this ordinance, no worker in the province will be left in a health blind spot."
