'2020 Yangcheon-gu Youth Week' Organized and Planned by Yangcheon Youth Themselves
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Su-young)'s Youth Week is back.
First held last year and receiving great response from young people, this year's Youth Week has been planned with even richer programs.
The Youth Week event, running from October 31 to November 8, will be held both online and offline at locations such as Anyangcheon, Mujungryeokjidae, and Seoul Startup Cafe Seoul Sinjeong Branch.
First, the Anyangcheon Night Walk will take place at 5:30 PM on October 31. Participants will walk together along a 6 km round-trip route from Mokdong Bridge to Sinjeong Bridge, aiming to revitalize young people who have been physically and mentally exhausted due to COVID-19. A famous influencer (tall type) will join the walk, encouraging participants to stretch their bodies and minds, with fun photo zones set up to create lasting memories.
There will also be special lectures by notable figures and youth forums. On November 1 at 10 AM, a small group session will be held at the Social Economy Support Center Startup Didimnuri, featuring KBS reporter Jonghoon Park's special lecture titled "Economic Survival Strategies for the Youth Generation After the COVID-19 Pandemic," which can be watched live on the Yangcheon-gu Office YouTube channel. On the same day at 2 PM, a youth forum titled "The Role of Youth Culture and Arts in Our Current Era" will be held at Seoul Startup Cafe Yangcheon Sinjeong Branch, where youth researchers and young people will exchange opinions.
The Youth Academy "ConCance" is also noteworthy. Fitness trainer and exercise YouTuber Seokgi Moon will appear and conduct a YouTube live broadcast. On November 7 at 2 PM, anyone can watch via YouTube YangcheonTV. He will share information related to exercise methods and diet, communicating with interested young people.
On the last day of the event, November 8, from 1 PM to 7:30 PM, an E-Sports Challenge will be held at Seoul Startup Cafe Yangcheon Sinjeong Branch. The event features various content such as a Catch Mind quiz drawing and guessing famous spots in Yangcheon, an exciting KartRider game with professional gamer Taekhwan Kim, and intense League of Legends matches where youth compete for their school's honor. The MC and commentator will be influencer ‘Dangun,’ who will lead the game festival so that young people can enjoy it cheerfully.
On-site participation in the Anyangcheon Night Walk, special lectures by notable figures, and some E-Sports Challenge events require prior registration via QR code, while online participation is open to anyone through YouTube (YangcheonTV).

Kim Su-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “Although it is an old memory, when I recall my youth, I also seemed to have many worries. I hope this time will be an opportunity for today's youth, who are walking a difficult path with employment challenges, excessive competition, and COVID-19, to communicate and support each other.” He added, “Despite the difficult environment, I support the future of young people who positively reflect on their mental health and think optimistically.”
