First Ice of This Fall on Hallasan... "Beware of Safety Accidents"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Sojeong] Ice has formed and frost has appeared for the first time this fall on Hallasan.
The Jeju Regional Meteorological Office announced that ice and frost were observed on the highlands of Hallasan (above 1500m in elevation) between dawn and morning on the 18th.
This is about 10 days earlier than last year.
On that morning, the lowest temperatures on Hallasan were recorded as -1.6°C at Witseooreum, -0.2°C at Jindallaebat, and 0°C at Nambyeok.

The Meteorological Office warned that temperatures near the summit of Hallasan will drop below freezing again between dawn and morning on the 19th, causing ice and frost in some areas, and urged hikers to be cautious of safety accidents.
