Kyobo Life Insurance Wins 1st Place for 11 Consecutive Years in the 'Korea Sustainability Index'
Following the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction, Achieved Record Number One in the Insurance Industry
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Kyobo Life Insurance has been selected as a model company for practicing sustainable management.
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 16th that it ranked first in the life insurance sector of the "Korea Sustainability Index" at the "2020 Korea Sustainability Conference" held at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. This marks the 11th consecutive year of winning, the first in the insurance industry.
The "Korea Sustainability Index (KSI)" is an indicator that evaluates the level of corporate social responsibility implementation and sustainability based on ISO 26000, an international standard for social responsibility. The Korea Standards Association has been conducting this evaluation annually since 2009.
This evaluation, conducted on 201 companies across 47 representative domestic industries, involved over 30,000 stakeholders including experts in economic, social, and environmental fields, consumers, partners, local communities, investors, government agencies, and NGOs.
Since the life insurance sector evaluation began in 2010, Kyobo Life Insurance has built a golden record by winning first place in the life insurance sector of the "Korea Sustainability Index" for 11 consecutive years and receiving the "Sustainability Report Award (KRCA)" in the service sector six times. Last year, it was the first in the financial industry to be inducted into the "Korea Sustainability Index" Hall of Fame and simultaneously won three awards for the first time: the Sustainability Report Award and the CEO Award.
Despite the challenging business environment caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) this year, Kyobo Life Insurance is known to have received high scores for actively fulfilling corporate responsibilities, protecting consumers, customer-centric management, establishing a fair and transparent competitive culture, and efforts to grow together with local communities.
