Gwangju Nam-gu to Conduct Non-Face-to-Face Education on the 20th to Promote Unification Atmosphere
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 15th that it will conduct the ‘2020 Public Officials Non-face-to-face Unification Education’ twice on the 20th to enhance the peace and unification will of district office public officials.
This unification education uses an online video conferencing system installed on individual computers of public officials, rather than group education.
The education lasts for one hour, and Professor Lee In-jeong from the Ministry of Unification’s Unification Education Institute will give an online lecture from Seoul on the theme of ‘The Future Vision of Peaceful Unification on the Korean Peninsula.’
Professor Lee In-jeong is expected to convey various topics such as the necessity of unification, inter-Korean relations, and prospects for changes in North Korea to the district office employees.
After the lecture, there will also be a time for Q&A online.
Since the 7th local government term, Nam-gu has been actively conducting unification education for public officials.
This is because it was judged that unification education for public officials is most important to raise the desire for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula from the local community.
Especially this year, due to COVID-19, group education was impossible, so education was conducted in a non-face-to-face manner such as cyber unification education. However, last year, experts such as Kim Jin-hyang, chairman of the Kaesong Industrial Complex Support Foundation, were invited to actively conduct peace and unification lectures, employee capacity-building education, and cyber education.
