"Ediya Coffee's 'Coffee Has Arrived' Delivery Sales Increased by 660% Year-on-Year"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Ediya Coffee's delivery sales have explosively grown compared to the previous year, establishing itself as a leader in the franchise coffee delivery market.
According to Ediya Coffee on the 15th, an analysis of sales data over the past year from last October to last month showed that delivery order sales during this period increased by a remarkable 660% compared to the same period last year. The number of orders during the same period reached 1.1 million, marking a 612% increase compared to the previous year.
In particular, delivery sales growth was prominent from April to June this year, when the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) became full-scale. Over the three months from April, Ediya Coffee's delivery order growth rate exceeded about 1000% compared to the previous year, indicating that many consumers enjoyed coffee at home through delivery at that time. Since then, Ediya Coffee's delivery service performance has continued to increase, and the number of stores available for delivery has grown from 400 stores in 2018 to 1,800 stores nationwide.
Ediya Coffee cited its trend-leading service strategy as a success factor. It is analyzed that the introduction of delivery services through a business agreement with the delivery app Yogiyo in 2018, thereby preoccupying the untact market, was effective. Ediya Coffee has since continued to strengthen customer service by forming agreements with delivery-specialized platform companies such as Barogo, Baedal Minjok, Vroong, and Coupang Eats.
