View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CU is launching a large number of winter protection products targeting the cold season, marking the start of full-scale winter preparations.
On the 15th, CU announced that it has collaborated with Kyungdong Navien, the number one domestic home boiler company, to release a series of winter protection products.
The newly released products cleverly express features such as maximum temperature, heat retention duration, and usage, inspired by the indoor temperature controller of the Navien condensing boiler. Additionally, each product includes phrases taken from the well-known Navien boiler advertisements, such as “Honey, we should put a foot boiler at father-in-law’s house” and “Honey, we should put children’s masks in the kids’ room,” adding a fun element.
The most representative winter protection product, the hot pack, is available in six different types and sizes, including hand warmers that generate heat when shaken and stored in pockets, foot-attached hot packs, and clothing-attached hot packs, maintaining warmth for up to 16 hours.
Smartphone gloves that allow touchscreen use while wearing gloves, lightweight and highly portable ear warmers, and two types of masks made from 100% cotton with a soft texture will also be released sequentially.
CU’s collaboration with Navien to introduce the winter protection product series aims to intuitively and entertainingly convey the shared functional benefit of heat retention between winter products and boilers to customers.
In particular, through collaboration with Kyungdong Navien, the first eco-friendly condensing boiler developer in Asia, the series carries an eco-friendly message encouraging the active use of personal winter protection products to reduce energy waste caused by excessive indoor heating and to protect the environment.
To coincide with the product launch, CU will hold a stamp collection event starting on the 21st. Customers can participate in the event by purchasing one or more products from the Kyungdong Navien winter protection product series and collecting stamps through CU’s membership app, Pocket CU.
Among the event participants, prizes such as a Navien condensing boiler (1 winner), heated mats (2 winners), and hot pack exchange vouchers (60 winners) will be awarded through a draw.
Kim Donghyun, head of the Household Goods Team at BGF Retail, said, “As the minimum temperature dropped to single digits last week and the weather became sharply colder, we are strengthening winter protection products at CU stores nearby so customers can take care of their health,” adding, “We plan to introduce various products so that customers can stay warm at CU during this winter, when concerns about colds are especially high.”
