Jeonnam Province 'Bio Medical Hub' Preliminary Feasibility Study Project Naming Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 13th that it will hold a naming contest until the 23rd for the preliminary feasibility study project of the Bio Medical Hub.
The province plans to promote the preliminary feasibility study project to foster a ‘blue resource-based immune-centered bio and medical industry,’ including ▲establishing an advanced medical base for treating intractable diseases ▲building a full-cycle support system for vaccines, immune therapeutics, and natural medicine ▲creating a medical-linked natural healing industrial ecosystem.
The core of this preliminary feasibility study project is to create an immune-specialized bio medical convergence cluster utilizing Jeonnam’s abundant medical, pharmaceutical, and healing resources, thereby establishing the foundation for K-quarantine and an advanced medical complex.
Through the contest, the province intends to select a name that can symbolize the ‘Bio Medical Hub,’ which will play a pivotal role in attracting the National Advanced Medical Complex, a key player in future K-quarantine (diagnosis, vaccines, etc.) and bio medical research and industry.
Anyone can participate in this naming contest by submitting a name within 15 characters (including spaces) that concisely expresses the project via email.
The province plans to select 29 winners, including one grand prize winner, three excellence awardees, five encouragement awardees, and 20 honorable mentions, and will present generous prizes such as local currency and Onnuri gift certificates.
For more details, please check the Jeonnam Provincial Government website. The province plans to propose the project with the finalized name to the government for the preliminary feasibility study early next year and reflect it in the 2023 national research and development project budget.
Ansanghyun, Director of the Economic Energy Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, “This naming contest will be an opportunity to widely inform the residents that the ‘Bio Medical Hub’ project is a new innovative growth engine for Jeonnam,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure Jeonnam secures core K-quarantine technologies and establishes an advanced medical complex to become a growth base driving regional development.”
