[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 13th that it will hold the '2020 Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Online Trade Exhibition.'
The exhibition will be held until the 16th. It is sponsored by Ulsan City and jointly hosted by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency, and Ulsan Shipbuilding and Offshore Plant Equipment Business Cooperative. According to the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, this is the first online trade exhibition held in the domestic industrial sector.
The Shipbuilding and Offshore Online Trade Exhibition consists of various programs such as a digital virtual exhibition hall, product displays at SME promotional booths, non-face-to-face (untact) video export consultations, and webinars with domestic and international industry experts.
One hundred domestic companies including Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and 22 foreign companies are participating. It is an international-scale online event with 27 buyers including state-owned enterprises from India and Qatar, medium to large shipowners, and purchasing agencies.

Kim Jeonghwan, Chairman of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, said, "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this trade exhibition, held for the first time in a digital environment in the shipbuilding and offshore industry, is expected to provide new opportunities for exchange and cooperation between domestic and international shipbuilding and offshore companies and global buyers."
