Toss Donates 300 Million KRW in the Names of 723,000 Customers
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Viva Republica, the operator of the mobile financial service 'Toss,' donated 300 million KRW in the names of its customers.
Toss announced on the 8th that it donated 300 million KRW, accumulated through a Chuseok donation campaign held for 10 days from the 25th of last month to the 4th, to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association in the names of 723,000 participants.
This campaign was organized to help vulnerable groups struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Each time users sent a mobile Chuseok card to acquaintances through the campaign page within the Toss application (app), Toss accumulated a certain donation amount from company funds.
During the campaign period, about 720,000 people participated, raising approximately 291 million KRW, and Toss added about 9 million KRW to deliver a total of 300 million KRW to Hope Bridge after the campaign ended.
