This Year's Hanwha Polymer Science Award Recipient: Professor Kim Deok-jun of Sungkyunkwan University
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Professor Kim Deok-jun of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University has been selected as this year's recipient of the 'Hanwha Polymer Science Award,' established by Hanwha Total and organized by the Korean Polymer Society.
Hanwha Total announced on the 6th that it awarded the Hanwha Polymer Science Award to Professor Kim at the Korean Polymer Society Autumn General Meeting held at the Busan Convention Center.
Professor Kim was recognized for his contributions to the commercialization of fuel cells through his research on "the fabrication of polymer electrolyte membranes with high ionic conductivity and long-term stability."

Hanwha Total established this award in 2005 to promote the development of polymer science, which is the foundation of petrochemical industry technology, and annually selects one scientist to support with a research grant of 10 million KRW.
