Gwangju City to Operate Mobile Unification Hall Until the 8th
Photos of Inter-Korean Summits and North Korean Daily Life Items Exhibited at City Hall Citizen Hall
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it will operate the '2020 Mobile Unification Hall' from the 6th to the 8th at the first-floor Citizen Hall of City Hall.
The Mobile Unification Hall is an on-site experiential education program operated since 2018 to spread the public consensus for peaceful unification.
At this event, more than 30 photos related to inter-Korean summits such as the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 North-South Joint Declaration, as well as 15 North Korean daily life items including cosmetics, magazines, newspapers, and cup noodles, will be exhibited. Various events such as writing unification postcards and virtual reality (VR) glasses tours of Pyongyang city will also be held.
The Gwangju Unification Hall is a unification education institution operated by the Ministry of Unification's Unification Education Institute and Gwangju City to improve understanding of North Korea's realities and raise awareness of peaceful unification through exhibitions of panels and items related to inter-Korean exchanges and North Korea, as well as various experiential events.

Lee Myung-soon, Director of Peace Infrastructure Creation at the city, said, "The Mobile Unification Hall is an experiential unification education program that directly visits schools and organizations in the Honam region. Last year alone, it was operated 31 times with about 14,000 participants, receiving great responses. We expect this event to enhance citizens' understanding of North Korea and spread consensus on peaceful unification."
