Hwasun-gun, Mandatory 'Mask Wearing' from the 13th
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 6th that starting from the 13th, the mandatory mask-wearing will be enforced in accordance with the revision of the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act'.
The county will have a guidance period until the 12th of next month, and from the 13th of next month, a fine of up to 100,000 won will be imposed for violations.
A fine may be imposed even if the mask is not worn properly, such as when the mouth and part of the nose are exposed.
Mesh masks, valve masks, scarves, and other clothing items that cover the face but have not proven to block droplets will not be recognized as wearing a mask.
The groups required to wear masks at all times include ▲public transportation workers and users such as bus, subway, and taxi ▲organizers, workers, and attendees of gatherings where many people congregate ▲workers and users of medical institutions ▲workers caring for residents and users of nursing facilities and day and night care facilities.
Additionally, mask-wearing obligations will be applied in multi-use facilities according to the level of social distancing.
At social distancing level 1, 12 high-risk facilities such as entertainment bars, colatecs, karaoke rooms, indoor group exercise facilities, door-to-door sales promotion centers, and buffets are subject to mandatory mask-wearing.
If social distancing is raised to level 2, additional facilities such as academies with fewer than 300 people, game rooms, general restaurants with an area of 150㎡ or more, religious facilities, movie theaters, bathhouses, saunas, indoor sports facilities, funeral halls, and PC rooms will be subject to mandatory mask-wearing.
However, exceptions to fines are recognized for cases where mask-wearing is difficult, such as children under 14 years old, eating food, medical procedures, and entering swimming pools and bathhouses.
