Gwangju City Selects Public Officials Joseongjun and Kim Taeseong as Employees of the Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it selected Joseongjun, a public official from the Road Division, and Kim Taeseong, a public official from the Investment Attraction Division, as the ‘Public Officials of September’ and held an award ceremony.
Joseongjun and Kim Taeseong actively engaged in the advancement and remodeling of existing industrial complexes and securing competitiveness for new industrial complexes, contributing to the promotion of Gwangju’s future strategic industries centered on the artificial intelligence industry and energy industry.
First, Joseongjun secured the entire project cost of 45.3 billion KRW in national funds for the construction of an industrial complex access road that will connect the Advanced 3 District Industrial Complex, which will be the center of Gwangju’s artificial intelligence industry, with Bitgoeul-daero, the main north-south arterial road, ensuring accessibility to the industrial complex and enhancing the logistics competitiveness of resident companies.
Additionally, regarding the installation of a highway interchange (IC), he completed the agreement to add the ‘Daechon IC’ (tentative name) for logistics transport vehicles to enter and exit the highway at the Nam-gu Energy Valley Industrial Complex near the Gangjin-Gwangju highway currently being promoted by Korea Expressway Corporation, securing the entire installation cost of 11.7 billion KRW in national funds, thereby contributing to reducing the financial burden and accelerating fiscal execution.
Kim Taeseong contributed to the final selection of the ‘Leading Industrial Complex for Major Renovation’ by participating in the government joint public contest in March aimed at strengthening manufacturing competitiveness and creating jobs through innovation in industrial complexes.
Through this, out of 24 new projects with a total budget of 219.1 billion KRW, 120.4 billion KRW in national funds were secured, reducing the financial burden and contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial complexes.
Furthermore, the industrial complex structural advancement project attracted five private investments totaling 457.7 billion KRW, creating a convenient working environment for industrial complex workers and resident companies, injecting new vitality into the aging and stagnant industrial complexes.
Joseongjun said, “The happiness of citizens is proportional to the efforts and passion for work of Gwangju city public officials,” and added, “I will strive to promote road projects, which are the foundation of urban development, with the maximum possible amount of national funding.”
