Smooth Traffic on Highways During Last 4 Nights of Holiday... End of Return Trip
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the night of the last day of the Chuseok holiday, the return traffic has come to an end, and traffic flow on most highways nationwide is smooth.
According to Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 9 p.m. on this day, congestion is only observed on a 3km section from Seocho to Banpo in the Seoul-bound direction on the Gyeongbu Expressway and a 3km section from Jamwon to Seocho in the Busan-bound direction. The corporation expects the total traffic volume for the day to be 3.35 million vehicles and anticipates smoother traffic flow compared to usual weekends.
In addition, traffic is flowing smoothly without congestion on the Seohaean Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, Jungbu Expressway, and Seoul-Yangyang Expressway.
The travel time from major regional cities to the Seoul tollgate is at normal levels: 4 hours 30 minutes from Busan, 3 hours 20 minutes from Gwangju, 3 hours 30 minutes from Daegu, 3 hours 40 minutes from Mokpo, 4 hours 10 minutes from Ulsan, 2 hours 40 minutes from Gangneung, and 1 hour 30 minutes from Daejeon.
