[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] At around 3:11 PM on the 2nd, a fire broke out in a piano academy practice room on the 2nd floor of a six-story residential-commercial complex building located in Jangjeon-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan.
Due to the fire, four men and women in their 20s, including two who were practicing piano on the 2nd floor and residents of the adjacent building, inhaled smoke while evacuating and were transported to the hospital. The fire burned the piano and soundproof walls, causing property damage estimated at approximately 18.64 million KRW (according to the fire station), and was completely extinguished within about 30 minutes.
The operator of the piano practice room where the fire occurred stated to the police, "I was charging a kickboard and practicing piano when I heard a 'puck' sound of sparks and flames suddenly flared up, so I tried to extinguish it myself."
